Safety Protocols
At Edge of Muskoka Experience Inc. we want everyone to have the adventure that they can talk about for years to come.
We also want everyone to come home safe. It is extremely important to be aware of your surroundings and the inherent risks that come with being out on the water or in the outdoors in general. Be cautious, be sober and respectful. In our experience, the boating community will always be there to help if you are in need. We would also ask that should you see somebody in distress that you also do your due diligence to assist them as well.
Be obvious in how you control your watercraft, giving all others around you, and yourself, the space required to always have care and control. In busy areas, slow down. A good friend once told me, “nothing bad happens if you are going slow”.
He was, and still is, right! 😊
It is law in Ontario to have a pleasure craft operators’ card to operate any motorized watercraft, including Jet skis and we strongly recommend having this online training prior taking to the water. Knowing what to look for, what the floating and permanent navigational markers mean, who has the right of way and when, will all come into play while out on our lakes and rivers.
There is also increased boat traffic during the summer months and knowing what to do and when, could make all the difference in keeping you, your family, and your friends safe.
